Herb Cream Cheese Recipe

Making your own herb cream cheese is the best thing ever! It's an easy appetiser or spread for bagels that's full of fresh herbs.

– 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened – ¼ cup chopped chives, or half chives and half fresh basil or dill – ½ teaspoon garlic powder – ½ teaspoon dried dill – ¼ teaspoon kosher salt – 1 to 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt or sour cream or ½ tablespoon milk, to soften (optional)

Cream cheese must be softened. Leave it at room temperature for 1 hour or microwave it on a dish for 5 seconds, flip it, and cook another 5 seconds. (If not room temperature, cook additional five seconds but air conservatively.)

Step 1

Cut herbs. Mix all ingredients in a bowl with a little Greek yoghurt, milk, or sour cream. 1 tbsp at a time for fluffier, spreadable texture (we used Greek yoghurt).

Step 2

Alternative: Whip cream cheese with ½ tbsp milk in a food processor or stand mixer. Pulse in the chopped herbs.
