Sourdough Chocolate Chip Muffins Recipe

With a hint of sourdough tang, these sourdough chocolate chip muffins are light and fluffy. They are also just the right amount of sweet.

– ¼ Cup Melted butter – ¼ Cup Greek Yogurt or sour cream – ⅓ Cup Milk I used whole milk – 2 Egg – 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract – ⅔ Cup Sourdough discard 200g – ½ Cup Sugar – 1 ⅔ Cup All-purpose flour 200g – 2 teaspoon Baking powder – ½ teaspoon Baking soda – ½ teaspoon Salt – 1-1 ½ Cup Chocolate chips (I used semi-sweet mini chips)

Warm the oven up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the milk, sourdough scraps, Greek yoghurt, melted butter, vanilla extract, sugar, and eggs.

Step 1

Don't mix any further than that. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix the dry and wet ingredients together until they are just mixed.

Step 2

Be careful not to over-mix as you slowly add the chocolate chips. Evenly spread the batter out in a baking pan that holds 12 muffins. Don't forget to grease or spray the pan with baking spray or butter before you start.

Step 3

It will be baked at 350 for 15 minutes. If you can wait that long, let it cool down before eating.
