Sourdough Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe

Enjoy these sourdough peanut butter cookies! A large dollop of peanut butter and a final roll in granulated sugar make these chewy cookies sweet and salty.


– ½ Cup Butter softened – ¼ Cup Shortening – 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract – ¾ Cup Brown sugar – ½ Cup White sugar – 1 Egg – 1 Egg yolk – ¼ Cup Sourdough discard – 1 Cup Peanut butter – 2 Cup All-purpose flour 240g – 1 teaspoon Baking soda – ½ teaspoon Salt


Preheat oven to 375��F. Add butter, shortening, vanilla, and sugars to a bowl or stand mixer. Beat for 5-10 minutes until fluffy.

Step 1

Scrape basin sides and add egg, egg yolk, peanut butter, and sourdough waste. Just blend. In another basin, mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly mix dry and wet components. Fully combine.

Step 2

Drop dough balls into a small bowl of granulated sugar with a cookie scoop and roll until covered. Sugar-covered dough balls should be 2 inches apart on a baking sheet.

Step 3

Flatten cookies gently with a fork. Bake 8-10 minutes @ 375 until the top is barely set. Let cool on the baking pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
