The Best Sourdough Discard Brownies Recipe

These brownies made from sourdough scraps are very fudgy, slightly sour, and just right sweet.

INGREDIENT

– ½ Cup Unsalted butter melted – 1 tablespoon Coconut oil – 1 Cup Chocolate chip – 1 Cup Cane sugar – ½ Cup Brown sugar – 2 Egg – 1 Egg yolk – 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract – ½ Cup Sourdough discard – 1 Cup All-purpose flour – ½ Cup Cacao/cocoa powder – 1 teaspoon Salt – 2 tablespoon Milk powder – ½ tablespoon Cornstarch

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 350°F. Heat butter and oil in a small pot on medium-low, stirring often. Add chocolate chunks and stir until smooth after melting. Transfer to your mixing bowl or stand mixer after cooling.

Step 1

Melt chocolate and add cane sugar, brown sugar, eggs, sourdough refuse, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

Step 2

Add flour, milk powder, salt, cornflour, and cacao or cocoa powder. Mix well and place in a parchment-lined 9x9 baking dish.

Step 3

Bake 30–35 minutes uncovered. When the centre is solid but jiggles when shaken, remove from oven. This will finish baking outside the oven. The brownie will be quite fudgy.
